The official animated music video for 'One Snap Shot' by Dublin quartet Empire Circus is centred around a soldier coping with post traumatic stress disorder.
Continuously shifting between awake and asleep, the soldier relives his experiences of war in a disorientating time-jumping journey.
The video connects directly to the lyrical content and themes in the song.

Empire Circus is David Walsh, Alan Doyle, Neil Eurelle & Brian Ellis.
'One Snap Shot' is from their 2019 album Tí and is the 2nd video working with WOBLOB.

Never showing the 'enemy', the video suggests the threat is internal.
The soldier is unsure on the morals of his position and is psychologically struggling.
The soldier is our protagonist through the personal relationship with his supportive partner, rather than via the role of 'allied hero soldier', lending an ambiguous at best view on war.
The timing is uncertain, plus the event isn't shown, but the video finale hints
to the soldier having accidentally killed a civilian child.
The soldier mentally connects the young girl to his partner, resulting in a combination of guilt and strength, both derived from love, as a source to heal.

Written, Directed and Animated by Stephen Smith (aka WOBBLYLOBSTER)
in Adobe After Effects & Photoshop, utalising photo textures and film within drawn motion graphics.
Shots are frequently shared as the soldier remains and the locations change
as events layer up, replay and imitate themselves.
